Walking in Scotland is a magical experience. It’s in the mist hanging low over ancient woodland, the smell of damp bracken and pine, the sound of a burn tumbling over stones, and the old stories whispered about the places you pass through.
These are the walks I love most. They’re atmospheric, dog-friendly and steeped in folklore, from city parks and riverside paths to fairy hills, forest trails and Highland glens. I’ve walked every one of them myself (usually with my dog leading the way), and for each route I share what makes it special, the legends and history behind it, and cosy spots to stop for something warm along the way.
So pull on your boots, pack for four seasons in one day, and come wandering with me.
Slow down, and stay captivated,
Rowan
